Shawn Perrin is a guitarist, composer, and teacher active in the Edmonton music scene. Although his musical roots began with blues and rock, Shawn’s studies have progressed through many genres including jazz, fusion, Latin, progressive rock/metal, and acoustic finger style.

In 2004, he graduated from Grant MacEwan’s music program studying jazz guitar performance with Bobby Cairns, and composition with Allan Gilliland. Shawn has accumulated a wealth of experience collaborating with various instrumentalists, singer songwriters, and bands ranging from jazz trios to big band settings.

Excelling in communication, he expands students’ understanding of technique, music theory, ear training, harmony, and improvisation to develop a well-rounded approach the guitar. Whether you are new to the instrument or are want to push your playing to the edge of your abilities, Shawn enthusiastically enables musicians of all ages to reach their musical goals.
