Jumbie Drum Fun Group Percussion Class Sept - Dec 2018

This group class is designed for children Grades 1 and up.  Utilizing African Hand Drums (Djembes), Trinidadian Steel Drums, and Rhythmic Vocalization (Kodaly).   

Students will gain basic note reading skills in treble cleff and note values ie: whole notes, half notes, quarter notes etc.

 There will be class options for Mondays and Wednesdays, so be sure to select the day you are able to attend the most often.

 There will be class options for Mondays and Wednesdays, so be sure to select the day you prefer. Depending on the number of people registering for each day, we may expand to another, or move some to join another class. If you are able to do either day, please include that in the notes on the registration form. We cannot guarantee that a class will be available on the day or time frame you choose, but if we cannot find a group for you to join that works with your schedule, we will give a full refund for the class.

Gordon Chadney has been teaching percussion since 1982 both in one-on-one and classroom environments.  With a Bachelor of Music from U of C and training from several other music schools, Gordon brings a lot of experience and knowledge to the teaching studio. Working with his students, he has produced five percussion CDs and has built their love for and skills on drums and percussion instruments. Gordon works well with students in any age range starting as young as 4 years old. He has a passion for bringing music into the lives of those he teaches, which is evident in his willingness to go above and beyond when helping his students progress in their art.
